Hyde Park Sydney Thinking Routine

Hyde park

  • What can you see?

In the photo we can see a chess game, but not an ordinary chess set, it's gigantic

  • What are these people doing?

These people are peacefully playing a game

  • How often do you think these people play at the park?

Given that it is a famous city park, many people probably play there daily, sometimes resulting in long lines to play this giant chess game.

  • What kind of different activities can you do at the park?

On a sunny day, you can enjoy a nice walk past all the different and extraordinary fountains in the park. You can also play various sports on the wide open fields.

  • Do you have something similar where you live?

Yes, right under my house there is Doña casilda park, its nor as big as de hyde park, but its probably the biggest park of the city

  • Where do you usually go for a walk with your friends?

We usually go to doña casilda park, its good place ande there are some ping pong tables where we usualy play for a lot of time.

  • Do you like going out to a park?

Yes, the thing that i hate the most is when the weather is bad, it limits a lot what you can do.

  • Do you usually play any sport in a park?

As i said befeore we play ping pong, but we dont take it as a sport, its a fun activity to do. Other than that i usualy dont do any other sport

If you’re curious about its history and what it looks like inside then consider taking a one hour tour. Guided tour, standard admission AUD$45 (25euros)  which operate frequently but I’d recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. We made use of our  Go City Pass  which includes the Opera House on their Sydney cards, offering savings. Who desingned? In 1957, Jørn Utzon, a Danish architect, won an international competition with his design for the Opera House. Construction began in 1959 but encountered many problems, including cost overruns and structural engineering challenges. Utzon resigned in 1966 amid disagreements with government authorities. Construction was completed in 1973. Who is Jorn Utzon? Born in 1918 in Denmark, Jorn built a renowned career among the world's architects, and already famous, he won the co...
